About Erasmus Darwin, grandfather of Charles Darwin, founder of the Lunar Society, polymath and an early evolutionist. Pearson was a greaty X3 grandson of Erasmus Darwin and had access to family archives.

Generally, in good condition. 29 wide-ranging essays, well indexed, by eminent scholars of the day. The majority regarding botany or aspects of human development, but including papers on geology, paleontology and astronomy.
