Murchison

Men of the Day No.14; ‘a faithful friend, and eminent Savant, and the best possible of Presidents, in Vanity Fair, Nov. 26, 1870. Sir Roderick Murchison was the second director general of the Geological Survey from 1855 to 1871. He died within the year of this cartoon and the accompanying page reads very like an advance obituary. Colour printed figure, 14”x9” and single page article, in very good condition.
