In very good condition: flat, clear plate mark, original centre-fold, very slight browning to edges, library stamp in upper right margin, over border and slightly into map.

Geologische Profile von Deutschland im Allgemeinen u.vom Riesen-Gebirge,1845, (printed on map) from Berghaus’Physikaler Atlas. Hand-coloured engraving, 36x45.5cm, flat with old centre fold and fin on reverse for binding into atlas. Strangely, the map at the centre, Tertiar Becken von Paris, is of northeast France, not the locale of the profiles. The two long profiles at the bottom relate to the Spezial Karte above. Unfortunate library stamp on upper right corner. Very slight browning to edges, otherwise very clean. In very good condition.

Sec. Malmedy 1:80,000 scale. Colour print, 60x67.5cm, cut and mounted on linen and folded between marbled light board covers. No date, no legend, no sheet number, yet complete border and details of publisher and printer, Berliner Lith. Inst. The east 30% of the map is in Germany. The style of the map is early using hachures to depict relief. Pencil notes in margin give formation names. Simon Schropp’sche was a Berlin publisher operating between, at least, 1820 and 1870. The map is in good condition.
